The Wings & Wheels Expo is still on for Saturday, September 12, from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.
With rain in the forecast, our team is preparing to make adjustments so everyone can still come out and enjoy the day. We have the flexibility to move many of our outdoor vendors and activities inside our Historic A10 Flight Test Hangar, and we are arranging protected areas for our food trucks and guests.
You’ll still have the opportunity to experience an incredible collection of historic aircraft, see our A-10 Warthog #087, visit participating vendors, enjoy great food, and explore the museum.
Some outdoor activities and aircraft operations may be adjusted based on weather and safety conditions, but Wings & Wheels Expo is not letting a few raindrops spoil the fun!

Featuring the Hagerstown Aviation Museum’s extensive collection of vintage aircraft built in Hagerstown. Bring the family to see our newest addition this year, the Fairchild-Republic A-10C Thunderbolt II “Warthog”! Climb aboard other classic museum aircraft like the Fairchild C-82, C-119 Flying Boxcars, C-123K Provider, and F-27. Other museum aircraft include: 1928 Kreider Reisner KR-31 biplane, and Fairchild 22, 24, PT-19 and PT-26 - all built in Hagerstown.
Make a $200 donation and experience the thrill of open-cockpit flying for a sight-seeing tour in the museum's 1943 Fairchild PT-19 Primary Trainer!!
EAA Chapter 36 will be offering free Young Eagle airplane rides for kids ages 8-17. Advance registration required at https://chapters.eaa.org/eaa36. Registration opens August 31, 2026 at 8:00 am.
The Civil Air Patrol and other organizations will have exhibits and aircraft on display. The Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics display will provide visitors with information about career training opportunities.
Capital Wing of the Commemorative Air Force will offer flight experiences in their WWII TBM Avenger torpedo bomber “Doris May”, Stinson L-5 “Gayle Ann” and Stearman Bi-Plane. Pre-purchase your ride tickets here: https://www.capitalwingcaf.org/our-warbirds
WHEELS!
The museum has partnered with Paws and Pistons to manage the Cruise-In of antique, classic and modern cars, trucks, and motorcycles! $10 donation per vehicle and the first 200 vehicles receive a custom event dash plaque! Also, see fire, law enforcement, rescue, construction, historic military, and other vehicles.
Cruise-In participants please arrive between 7:00 am and 9:00 am and use the Basore Drive entrance off Rt 11.

Lunch and sweets available from Local Vendors. This community event is a great day for the family to visit the airport & learn more about Hagerstown’s Aviation Past, Present, and Future. Museum merchandise, toys, books, hats, T-shirts are for sale.
The New Horizons Band will perform patriotic and big band tunes in the museum hangar from 12 noon to 1pm.
Entry By Donation. $10 per person suggested donation. Your donations will support future museum events and help rehabilitate the museum's new home in the original 1943 Fairchild Aircraft Flight Test Hangar, also known as the Dome Hangar.
