The renderings shown offer a glimpse into the museum’s future, including the Paul K. Shockey Aircraft Factory Experience, which will offer hands-on exhibit opportunities and mirror a “day in the life” of a Fairchild factory worker.

The Hagerstown Aviation Museum began leasing the 1943 Fairchild Flight Test Hangar in October 2020, and purchased it outright in early 2023. Over the course of the last four years, a multitude of renovations and restorations have taken place, and a capital campaign was launched with aspirations to continue these renovations, establish new, interactive exhibits, and create additional archival and classroom spaces.
In July 2023, the Richard A. Henson Foundation pledged a groundbreaking matching challenge for the museum, offering the potential to secure up to $1.5 million in matching funds over the next several years. Please visit the Henson Challenge webpage to learn more about this exciting opportunity and stay up-to-date on our progress.
The public phase of the museum’s capital campaign was launched in May 2024, with more than $4 million raised towards the overall $6 million goal. Making a tax-deductible donation to the Hagerstown Aviation Museum to support its campaign efforts is just a click away! Simply click the “Donate” button above.
